"Free College Tuition: A Step Back Into Accessibility"

  • Drafted, edited, finalized, and proofread a thirteen-page argumentative essay detailing the benefits a free college tuition system would bring to universities and students in the United States.

  • Qualitative and Quantitative data was given from other countries was used to model how such a system could be implemented successfully.

  • The research and writing process took about eight weeks. 

Activities

Union County Early College Prom Organizer and Committee Member (2023)

  • One of eight members tasked with organizing the prom night for juniors, seniors, and super seniors.

  • Endeavors included deciding on a theme for the night, collaborating with and unifying other committee members' visions, creating posters and other materials to advertise the night to students, and creating lists of desired food, decorations, and music.

  • Responsible for setting up and decorating the venue the morning before the event, promoting a logical placement of items, decorations, and photo opportunities.

Peer Tutor for Personal Finance/Economics Courses at Union County Early College (August 2023-Present)

  • Privileged to assist eleventh-grade students in comprehending intricate concepts within the realms of personal finance and economics.

  • Basic responsibilities include grading assignments, grading student notebooks, organizing classroom functions and seating charts, marking student participation, and providing feedback to the instructor on the thoroughness of concepts taught.

  • More complex responsibilities involve forming small study groups with students to prepare for upcoming tests, teaching mini-lessons on personal finance subjects, and organizing the course curriculum/schedule to better match the progress of the class.

Student Apprentice at Lanti Performing Arts (2020-2023)

  • Lanti Performing Arts is a community theatre company that specializes in children’s music lessons, productions, classes, and summer camps.

  • Student apprentices are directly responsible for directing and managing many aspects of the earlier childhood camps and classes for children ages 5-12.

  • Activities and responsibilities include quickly preparing crafts and activities for students, monitoring children, maintaining a level of cleanliness and safety at the studio, teaching basic musical patterns and abilities, supervising games, and providing a positive environment and role model for students to ask questions and connect with.

Volunteering

Zach’s Rescue: Animal Services at PetSmart - Volunteer Feline Caregiver

  • Zach’s Rescue is an animal activist organization with a mission of rescuing cats from euthanization and abuse.

  • New cats are brought to PetSmart, given veterinary treatment, and placed into temporary enclosures located at the back of the store.

  • Activities include thoroughly cleaning out cages, providing new food and water, spending one-on-one time with each cat via playtime, consulting others to sign up to volunteer, and answering questions about potential adoptions and fostering of cats.
